We recommend keeping your systems to the newest version because of the improvements that Microsoft keeps adding to its software and functionalities, designed to ease employees work and make them much more productive. Also, Microsoft has a lifecycle and stops the support for the older versions of the software, meaning they will not get any new requests for new features, no security updates and in time, no upgrades at all. For example, Microsoft no longer provides any support for Dynamics NAV 2009 and older versions.

Between the older versions of NAV and Business Central the main difference is that the developments are made on extensions and the core code of the ERP is not affected anymore. Having the developments implemented on extensions allows you to upgrade faster, with less costs and with minimum risks.

Teams is more than a chat, it’s a hub for teamwork in Office 365 where a project owner can create a team, assign members, put all documentation related to that project in a single storage location, create tasks using Planner, Share PowerBi reports etc.. The IT Department can manage all security and compliance policy for all Teams.

When we internally implemented Teams, we had users running Teams alongside Skype for Business as two separate solutions that deliver similar and overlapping capabilities such as presence, chat, calling, and meetings, this coexistence mode being called Island.? Our goal was to move users from Island Mode to Teams Only mode. In the Island Mode if one user is running both applications, chat messages from the other users will be received either in Teams or Skype. Once the users migrated in Teams Only mode, all chat messages were received in Teams. Another benefit that will be observed immediately is that in Teams you have persistent chat. You will find there all your conversations history.

New algorithmic improvements in Teams, we can experience greater audio quality also on mobile devices even under congested and lossy networks. Even so, Microsoft will launch soon a new audio codec called Satin that will replace the SilkWide codec which will be able to deliver crystal clear wideband audio with as little as 7 kbps. Also, Microsoft announced that they will soon bring real-time noise suppression to Teams meetings and calls to eliminate distracting background noise. For video the blur background is already implemented.

To minimize the latency between users and services, Teams use Media Processor for hosting meetings, obtaining a better experience in presentation mode (Share desktop or share screen).

This are just some of the benefits that will be noticed in your first experience with Microsoft Teams.

Skype For Business will be deprecated in 2021, so why do not start using Teams from now?

Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central and AX/Dynamics for Finance and Operations are integrated business solutions that contain functionalities covering financial management, supply chain management, manufacturing, project management, service management and human resources, developed by Microsoft and implemented all over the word. Each country has specific requirements imposed by local legislation. Romania also has a set of complex accounting and tax requirements, that are constantly changing and subject to different interpretation. The process of adapting the standard solution to meet local requirements is called localization. For covering all this specific local requirements, Microsoft localizes its solution for different countries, but Romania is one of the countries for which Microsoft has stopped developing localization since its 2009 version, leaving the task of localization and translation to its most experienced local partners.

Romanian companies need the Romanian localization to ensure that all local statutory requirements are covered by the implemented system.

Based on our more than 15 years of experience in implementing this solution for different industries, on our knowledge of the businesses and on our customers feedback for local requirements, we developed the Arggo Localization packages. Our localization package contains a set of functionalities and reports that are compliant to the Romanian statutory regulations and tax requirements, translation of Microsoft Dynamics NAV and AX/Dynamics for Finance and Operations solutions in the Romanian language, and various other functionalities and reports that are based on our customer’s practical needs.

Arggo Localization package is registered as a certified solution for Microsoft Dynamics NAV and can help any company that want to implement Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central solution to be compliant in statutory reporting and other business processes imposed by Romanian legislation.

Before choosing a software solution it is vital to know the processes that will be implemented in the new system and have a common understanding of the different roles.

It may require adding or reducing resources to a process and it’s better to have this information before the solution is implemented.

In the BPR process you might find out that other digital solutions need to be considered and corelated with the system implementation.

Based on our experts vast experience we can help you find the best solution for your company after we analyze and establish your short/long term objectives. We understand very well the challenges of each industry and can help you with recommendations from our past experiences and solutions tailored to your specific business scenario.

When you are evaluating solutions for your IT platform you should take into consideration Azure. Here are some of the benefits in using Azure:

  • With Azure you can afford to deploy enterprise solution at an affordable price - deploy High Availability Solutions, Disaster Recovery, Complex Backups, Deploy Security Solutions based on machine learning etc.

  • You will have the possibility to test and implement all the innovation deployed in Azure Platform.

  • Flexible in resources usage - you can increase or decrease or stop resources allocation upon business request.

  • Ready to go - you do not need to wait your vendor to deliver your hardware or license, you just activate the product.

The project starts off with the initiation phase, when the teams and stakeholders meet up and get a high-level view of what the project implies and agree on the scope, timeline and budget. After establishing the project parameters, the analysis and design phase takes place, during which the necessary requirements of the future product are first explored, and a solution is designed afterwards. With the accepted designed solution in mind, the project can carry on with the development and configuration phase, which consists of the actual development of the desired functionalities, customized to the needs of the client. The final phase of the project is the Go-live, a phase that comprises the successful acceptance and hand-over of the product to the client, as well as a period of support to ensure the smooth transition.

There are no two projects alike, therefore the phases of a project may vary depending on the number of areas impacted (Accounting, Sales, Manufacturing, and others) and the complexity of the product's requirements.

When transferring data from one system to another, some customers want to migrate all the historical transactions performed in the old system into the new system , to ensure that they will have all the data at their disposal for any reporting/auditing situation that may arise.

This practice of historical migration is not recommended because is a huge time-consuming task made by the client to verify and reconcile each document. In most cases, the transactions from the old systems are inconsistent and require long processing for validation in order to be transposed into excel and imported into the new system. As well, with the implementation of a new system, are design of the chart of accounts and reporting/analysis methods is carried out, which involves mapping the historical data with the new rules of accounts and analysis requirements.

According with the best practices of implementing a new ERP system it is highly recommended to use the balances migration instead of historical migration, that only opening balance and open invoices should be migrated and all the posted G/L entries and documents have to remain in the old account system.

The balances migration includes the opening balance for each G/L Account, Net Change by G/L Account by month (depending of the going live starting date), the opening receivable balance for each customer (uncollected invoices or open documents), the opening payable balance for each vendor (unpaid invoices or open documents ), opening balance for each Fixed assets (acquisition cost and cumulative depreciation to date) and inventory valuation and quantities.

As a benefit of the annual license maintenance (Enhancement Plan) when you decide to upgrade your Dynamics ERP system your license will also be upgraded with no additional costs.
For example, if you decide to upgrade from an older version of NAV (acquired before 1st of May 2019) to Business Central, for each NAV license (concurrent user) you will receive 3 Business Central licenses (named user). For further information please contact us.

The enhancement fee is not affected by the upgrade. As a benefit of this Enhancement Plan, Microsoft maintains the initial value of the licenses and the enhancement fee will remain the same if it is paid on time. Also, if the Enhancement Plan is active, you will be able to modify the license, purchase additional licenses or upgrade the license.
